Also known as the stovetop espresso maker and made from food grade aluminium, the aluminum alloy coffee maker is durable and of good value. The acrylic handle and lid knob are easy to handle, even when the device is very hot. Just right for 2-3 people.
Before using for the first time it would be good to un-assemble all components and lightly hand-wash in warm water. It is recommended that you make and discard the first 2-3 brews. To make the best of your Moka pot consider the following tips: Ensure all parts have been assembled correctly and that the base is screwed tightly to the upper chamber- avoid using the handle as leverage. Medium ground coffee would be ideal as if its too fine, it could clog up the filter and if its too coarse, it could impact the flavour & intensity. Select an element that is the closest to the size of the base of stovetop, adjust the gas so that the flame is not flaring up the side of the unit - especially towards the handle. Gurgling sounds and an intense aroma means your coffee is brewing. If it's spluttering or spitting out it means the heat is high and needs to be turned down. Swtich off the gas, when the upper chamber Is about 80-90% filled.
Tps for Cleaning: After use, lightly rinse by hand under warm water to protect your coffee oil coating. Do not use dishwasher or other abrasive cleaners. Never leave unused coffee or excess water in the unit for an extended period, especially overnight as this can cause oxidisation and corrosion inside the unit. Ensure all the parts are completely dry before reassembling and storing away.
